We are currently seeking a Construction Tax Manager to join our practice, working from our Timonium, Maryland office. The manager will build strong relationships within the firm and with our clients. Someone with a passion for developing relationships and strong client management skills is key. This leader will further develop and manage the Construction Tax practice through application of technical skills, leadership abilities and engagement management experience, and act as a resource to other Firm offices to provide service assistance and/or technical expertise as needed.If you are a highly motivated, career-minded individual... if you're interested in business and want to work directly with construction business owners... if you're looking for a career opportunity that offers more than just a paycheck... then we'd like to hear from you.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:BS/BA in Accounting or FinanceCPA requiredA solid foundation and understanding of Construction Contact Accounting Knowledgeable in the various tax accounting methods available to Construction contractorsExperience advising and planning with pass through entities for taxpayers operating in multiple taxing jurisdictions Supervise, train and review the work of Staff and Senior Tax Accountants on tax engagementsMinimum of 6 years of experience in the tax area of public accountingProvide tax advisory services to construction clientsTechnical review experienceSupervisory experience required with a passion for mentoring associatesTax group operations experience a plusExcellent attention to detail and time management skillsKnowledge of CCH Axcess (Workstream/AutoFlow), or equivalent programs, requiredDemonstrated strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skillsProvide exceptional client service through strategic thinking, sense of urgency, and quality deliverablesResponsibilitiesReview Business Tax ReturnsManage Construction Client Business RelationshipsSupervise, train and review the work of Staff Tax Accountants on tax engagementsPlan, budget and oversee job efficiency for tax engagementsTax planning and structuring including tax research and writing of technical memorandaConduct tax researchIdentify value-added solutions for clientsMaintain accurate records for client billing systemMKS&H offers excellent benefits, including 401k, cafeteria plan, tuition assistance, business development incentives, hybrid work schedule reporting out of Timonium, Firmwide reduced working hours during select non-peak months, 10 Paid Firm Holidays in addition to annual PTO allowance, and more.
