Job Description:

LHH is partnering with a local university in their search to find a Grant Accountant for their team. The Grant Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of grant accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and ensuring accurate allocation of grant funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a hybrid work schedule after training.Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of grant accounting, including preparing financial reports, budget forecasts, and variance analyses.Ensure compliance with grant regulations and guidelines, including OMB Uniform Guidance and other federal, state, and private funding requirements.Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure funds are used appropriately and efficiently.Work closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop grant budgets and funding proposals.Prepare and submit financial reports and invoices to grantors in a timely manner.Reconcile grant accounts and prepare journal entries as needed.Assist with grant audits and provide documentation and support as required.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a nonprofit or higher education settingStrong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including fund accounting and cost allocation.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite or Sage).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
