With our network of more than 80 manufacturing facilities and more than 4,000 employees, we're leading the industry with innovation and a safety-first mindset.SummaryThe Area EH&S Director will be responsible for the occupational health, safety and loss control management of our regional plant facilities in alignment with the Oldcastle Infrastructure National Platform for Environmental, Health and Safety management. This position will work closely with all levels of management and hourly employees to ensure safety and health work standards and methodologies are communicated and targeted goals are achieved through individual as well as team based objectives and strategies. The EH&S Director will also work with the Regional Market Area Management Team to ensure implementation and continuous improvement of safety and health processes and systems consistent with Oldcastle policies and performance standards as well as compliance with applicable regulations.ResponsibilitiesProviding expertise for local management regarding safety and health issues and applicable regulationsClosely partner with the regional leadership team developing and driving the EH&S strategyAdvising and assisting local management in implementing, managing and auditing within the framework of an innovative Health and Safety Management Systems in a manufacturing and construction settingProvide strategy and oversight of local Safety ManagersTaking action in shifting our safety culture from rules and regulatory compliance to a safety culture developed as a behavior driven value at all levels of the organizationProviding oversight expertise for incident investigations, development of corrective plans and follow-up actions to prevent recurrenceEnsure timely reporting and claims management for workers compensation, general liability and automotive liabilityCoordinate health and industrial hygiene monitoring with risk management insurance providerWork with VP of EH&S in finding strategic national initiatives and developing policies/proceduresQualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceExperience with Federal Environmental Regulations7+ years experience in the construction materials or manufacturing industryExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenHigh level of computer proficiency in MS Office productsknowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 and CFR 1926 regulationsStrong analytical and technical skills Nationally recognized Safety and Health Certifications preferred (ASP, CSP, CIH)What CRH Offers YouHighly competitive base payComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programsGroup retirement savings programHealth and wellness programsA diverse and inclusive culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotionAbout CRHCRH has a long and proud heritage.
