Job Title: Sr.Hardware Engineer-FPGA Design Location: Boonton, NJ Client: LTTS/Hubbell Skills: FPGA Design; Porting of existing FPGA Intellectual Property; VHDL coding; Lattice or Xilinx/AMD devices Job Description & Skill Requirement: • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of experience working with design and verification of FPGA code in a design or support role. • Must be proficient in VHDL coding, Verilog is a plus. Must be able to understand and analyze schematic-capture design methods for PLDs and FPGAs. • Proven track record for FPGA simulation and test-bench development. • Must have experience in Porting existing FPGA Intellectual Property between different vendors and different design entry methods. • Must have excellent design documentation skills and experience using source code version controls and bug-tracking tools. • Must be proficient in designs utilizing Lattice or Xilinx/AMD devices and their design tools; experience with Actel/Microsemi is highly desirable; familiarity with other vendors (such as Altera/Intel) is a plus. • Must have a very good understanding of electronic circuit design, in order to analyze and troubleshoot component interfacing and overall device functionality. • Must have experience in analyzing system/circuit design and in troubleshooting circuits comprised of microprocessors and their support devices, such as DSPs, high-speed analog devices, communication interfaces, and power actuators. Experience with test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators is required. • Familiarity with circuit schematic capture tools (such as Altium or P-CAD) and with board layout tools is desirable. • Experience with communications interfaces (ranging from Nx64kb/s protocols through DS1/DS3 data formats) desirable. • Must be self-motivated and capable of handling numerous concurrent activities. • Must be a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualification: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of experience working with design and verification of FPGA code in a design or support role
