Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic Open to: Internal Applicants Only, Internal and External Applicants Full-Time or Part-Time Status: Full-Time, 12 months Staff Job Type: Hourly/Non-Exempt Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications Under general supervision to perform general maintenance repairs and assist in assigned duties. This is a unionized position and subject to the University's Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU (BJ32) Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform all duties peculiar to, and normally required in general building maintenance trade of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and plastering and their various fields requiring procedure and techniques for such work. * Operate and adjust building equipment including temperature controls and make minor repairs. * Plan and organize maintenance and repairs. * Do minor cement work. * Perform masonry repairs. * Do preventive maintenance checks and change filters, oils, etc. * Cleaning of roofs, drains, gutters, downspouts and catch basins. * Perform all and other related maintenance duties as assigned. Secondary Responsibilities: Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: Minimum Requirements: * Skilled in the use of tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties described above. * Mechanical ability. * Must be able to follow instructions. * Four years of maintenance experience in at least two crafts. * Must have a valid driver's license. * Be familiar with building codes.
