Job Description:

HVAC Systems DesignerThe HVAC Systems Designer's primary functions are to engineer MEP systems, particularly HVAC, for commercial Design Build projects, conduct facility condition assessments, generate specifications, and produce detailed drafting and design layouts.Job Responsibilities:Design and engineer MEP systems, focusing on HVAC, for new commercial Design Build projects across diverse locations.Perform facility condition assessments and execute construction administration tasks.Create specifications, conduct load calculations, and choose suitable HVAC equipment.Produce detailed drafting and design layouts using drafting software.Conduct field surveys to gather necessary project data.Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders throughout design and construction phases.Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to HVAC design and engineering.Other duties as assigned by manager.Experience/Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; equivalent HVAC design experience accepted.5+ years of experience in Mechanical HVAC engineering and design.PE Certification is advantageous but not mandatory.Proficiency in CADD software (AutoCAD, Revit) for drafting and design.Strong grasp of energy codes, ASHRAE standards, and psychrometric analysis.Experience with equipment selection, HVAC load calculations, building codes, and systems design.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.Project Management experience is a bonus.Physical Demands/Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, type, and operate office technology such as computers, printers, copy machines, and calculators.Must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to distinguish colors and engage in repetitive fine manipulation frequently.Capable of navigating uneven surfaces and climbing ladders.May be exposed to temperature changes and confined spaces.
