Job DetailsJob LocationOrlando Office - ORLANDO, FLDescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Tax Accountant's primary responsibilities include assisting outside tax firms in preparing federal and state returns. They will ensure we remain in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. They will advise and provide oversight in all areas of tax for the accounting group.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assists outside tax firms in preparing federal, state returns and tax provision. Prepare property and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information. Assist in the calculation of both estimated and extension tax payments for the consolidated federal and the separate/consolidated state income/franchise tax returns. Process payments to all taxing jurisdictions. Gathering and compiling financial information for the completion of the various tax engagements. Maintain tax workpapers and documentation. Maintain tax due date list. Assist with drafting responses to tax notices by drafting appropriate responses and contacting the various taxing authorities by phone, email, and mail if needed. Comply with federal, state, and local requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with outside tax firm and tax specialists to ensure timely tax reporting requirements. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in accounting CPA license (preferred) Minimum of 3 years in public accounting and private practice as a tax professional with experience in corporate, state and local tax Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities Intermediate to advanced knowledge of NetSuite preferred Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
