Aero offers complete services for all construction market types and any size project as well as complete testing and maintenance services.Position SummaryResponsible for installation, repairs, and modifications to fire alarm and detection systems in full compliance with all applicable codes, as well as industry and company and company standards.Experience LevelExperiencedPrimary Responsibilities And DutiesInstall new systems and system componentsInspect and test fire protection or fire detection systems to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standardsIdentify corrective actions necessary to bring alarm and detection systems into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to property owners or their representativesMake modifications and/or repairs to existing alarm and detection systemsAttend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and alarm systemsRespond to service calls for alarm and detection systems (may include emergency calls during non-standard working hours)Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.QualificationsHigh School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) requiredExperience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industryExperience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systemsKnowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems.Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting. High level of knowledge & application of National Fire Alarm CodeThoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.RequirementsAble to meet all physical requirements. Must have all required tools Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft) Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
