ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client in Collinsville, IL that is seeking a Union Payroll Specialist for a 3-6 month temp to perm. Job Duties: Process payroll and issue paychecks which includes setting up employees in the system, entering garnishments, union initiation, dues and weekly time sheets from multiple locations; Includes: time via excel, Time and Attendance systems, manual entry Ensure the accuracy of employee information including pay rates, union codes, hours, and pay changes, direct deposit information Work with Accounting department to reconcile issues related to monthly bank statement Enter all employee related reimbursements and deductions as provided per the employee agreement Complete garnishments in relation to court requests and process accordingly in payroll system Primary point of contact for employees, management, finance, and HR for payroll related questions, inquiries, audits, etc. Prepare labor reports as requested; issue checks within deadline set by each unit Prepare monthly union reports; cut checks via AP system; submit both to unions within deadline set by each union to avoid assessments and penalties Provide pro-active assistance and recommendation to operations by reading and interpreting union contracts, pre job documents, jurisdictional boundaries and prevailing wage requirementsRequirements 2 to 5 years of payroll experience working with an in-house payroll software Strong experience working in a multi-state, multi-union environment Basic accounting skills including General Ledger reconciliation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work with confidential information Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven workday Proficient with MS Office applications including excel Organization abilities Work in a self-guided manner Strong customer service skillsThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
