SUMMARY Westlake is offering an opportunity to apply your experience and skills as a Maintenance Mechanic based in Longview, Washington. The Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, piping systems, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: * Perform job duties consistent with written job instructions * Perform standard pump rebuilds * Use FRP pipe wrap repair kit to perform emergency repairs on FRP and CPVC lines * Perform standard fabrication techniques * Replace flanged and threaded valves and gasket material selection * Cut carbon and stainless-steel plate, sheet, and mesh * Build stairs, awnings, and other enclosures * Perform basic alignment of rotating equipment * Must perform rigging safety, including inspection, shackles, etc. * Perform basic welds in carbon and stainless-steel using rod and wire feed process * Perform troubleshooting of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps * Machine work including lathe (shafts), milling and weld/other repairs * Learn the process of rebuilding and changing a cell including installing cell switch and jumper assembly * Must be proficient in the use of all equipment used in the threading of pipe * Must be proficient in pipe preparation for all welding processes * Measure, plan, and sketch isometric drawings for the purpose of fabricating piping * Build from prints; advanced skills including drywall and framing * Perform basic laser alignment of rotating equipment * Build forms, pours concrete, grouts and install pump bases from print * Fulfill on-call requirements for the mechanical department * Maintain a high level of safety performance. Prioritize safety over other objectives * Display principle and discipline in adhering to plant policies, processes, and procedures * Communicate effectively to employees at all levels of the organization * Follow through on commitments to other departments * Interact with coworkers in a polite and professional manner * Develop and maintain good working relationships with contractors and consultants EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED) * Minimum of 5 years of experience as a journeyman millwright required * A journeyman's certification or millwright's certification from an approved Apprenticeship Training Program preferred BENEFITS The hired applicant will be eligible to enroll in medical, dental, vision and will receive basic life insurance, basic AD&D insurance, and short-term and long-term disability wage replacement benefits. The position is also eligible to enroll in the Company's 401k plan and will receive both employer match and annual contribution. Employees who work one thousand hours in the year prior will receive 40 hours on year one (1) to four (4) years of service. The employee will also receive 10 paid Company holidays. This position may participate in bonus plan. HOURLY PAY $43.77 per hour PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT All of the work required in the operating units requires usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
