JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all production activities within the Press, Secondary Finish, and Sintering Departments. Assist floor leads to coordinate the efforts of employees to achieve specific production activities. Performs related administrative duties including but not limited to performance reviews, daily scrap and efficiencies. Audit and review the process regularly plant wide and, in all departments, to ensure standards and practices set forth by department managers are being followed and to ensure proper quality and productivity levels are maintained on all shifts. Help promote and maintain a safe workplace for everyone. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides day-to-day direction and leadership to department leads and employees. Plans and delegates workloads to production supervisors and adjust assignments as necessary.Communicate daily to first management the following:Any information necessary to ensure product quality and deliverySuggestions for training, documentation, or standards to ensure employee competence, morale, safety, and productivitySignificant events during the absence of first shift management2. Continually reviews standards of job performance and works with employees to improve performance and safety.3. Provides employees with feedback regarding performance with a focus on positive reinforcement, employee recognition, and employee career development.4. Pursues continuous improvement by developing, implementing, and supporting solutions/ strategies to increase productivity, reduce scrap, and improve the operation.5. Work in concert with Setup personnel, Operations, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure that all products manufactured in the Press Department conform to the highest quality standards.6. Assist Quality Assurance and Engineering to disposition non-conforming product7. Communicate with Maintenance and Engineering to keep equipment in a condition to produce quality product at acceptable production levels.8. Conducts employee communication "toolbox" meetings and conducts employee training whenever necessary.9. Serves on and leads teams within their respective site to solve problems or improve performance, safety on time delivery and output.10. Actively works to improve employee morale and address employee concerns.11. Sustain an organized, safe, and highly presentable work area.12. Administers Company Policies, Procedures, and Core Values. 13. Provides employees with positive discipline as needed.14. Communicates with the necessary people to keep current all work instructions, means of written communication and other documentation in the department15. Orders department supplies, able process purchase orders, communicates with purchasing manger. 16. Scheduling department work, communication with customer service and team members to provide accurate delivery date and improve on time delivery.17. Works with department managers to complete required performance appraisals on employees and communicates with employees their performance.18. Prepares reports and presentations as required.19. Represent MPP innovation in a positive and professional manner.20. Works as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow employees in a cooperative, constructive manner.OTHER:Duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment, with direct supervision of production employees. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.EDUCATION:A technical or business degree preferred. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed above.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:Environmental Conditions: Primarily will be working on the manufacturing floor which will include high noise levels as well as powder metal dust. PPE will be provided when necessary.Personal Protection Equipment: When required in specific areas.
