Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for our Pediatric Specialty Hospital. This position works a minimum of 40 hours per pay period (two weeks) with two weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Our Pediatric Specialty Hospital offers a 1:3 nurse to patient ratio. FREE On-site parkingRequirements Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of an accredited practical school of nursing program.Minimum of two years of experience in order to have (a) acquired a thorough knowledge of the scientific principles of nursing (b) acquired a thorough knowledge of professional nursing standards; (c) developed skill in neonatal and/or pediatric nursing techniques and the ability to adapt techniques based on individual needs; and (d) become familiar with hospital policies, procedures and standards.Current LPN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.Current CPR certification.Analytical ability necessary to assess and evaluate the patients' condition and utilize the nursing process and professional judgment in planning and providing comprehensive care to patients. Ability to integrate patient related data from various sources into the plan of care and appraisal of condition.Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with patients, family members, medical staff, and families in sensitive situations. Ability to work cooperatively within the framework of the nursing team.Physical ability necessary for constant standing, walking, and lifting 10 to 50 lbs. A high level of stamina also necessary for the frequent lifting and moving of patients and the carrying of supplies and equipment.Emotional/mental ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the daily pressure of stressful or emergency situations.Salary Description $20.00 - $28.00 per hour plus differentials
