With over 45 locations, Sun River Health is committed to advancing health equity and improving the well-being of the diverse communities we serve.*Position Overview*Sun River Health is seeking passionate and dedicated Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselors (CASACs) to join our team at our Bay Street Substance Abuse Center in Staten Island and The Alpha School in the Bronx. The CASACs will be responsible for providing alcohol and substance abuse counseling services at our OASAS-licensed clinics. You will work as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team to provide individualized and group counseling, assessment, treatment planning, and support services for clients dealing with substance use disorders.This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.*Key Responsibilities*As a CASAC at Sun River Health, you will:* Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and evaluations to understand clients' substance use history and treatment needs.* Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in overcoming substance use disorders.* Develop personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic care.* Educate clients on substance use, addiction, and coping strategies in both one-on-one and group settings.* Introduce clients to program goals, objectives, rules, regulations, and their rights and responsibilities within the program.* Facilitate group therapy sessions using effective group management techniques to promote positive behavior change.* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with OASAS regulations and Sun River Health policies, using the ECW electronic health record system.* Work closely with the social work team to create and implement treatment plans that address both clinical and social support needs.* Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in substance abuse treatment and recovery.* Provide referrals to community resources and services that can enhance clients' recovery journey.* Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills while working with diverse populations.*Qualifications*To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:* A valid, full OASAS CASAC certification (must have completed 350 hours of training).* A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in an OASAS program.* Bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required).* Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.* Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.* Knowledge of substance abuse counseling, treatment planning, and clinical interventions.* Experience working with culturally diverse populations and commitment to working with vulnerable communities.* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in documentation and using electronic health records (ECW).* Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client care.*Why Join Sun River Health?** *Mission-Driven Work*: Make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in underserved communities.* *Diverse and Inclusive Workforce*: Be part of an organization that values diversity and fosters an inclusive work environment.* *Professional Growth*: We offer career development opportunities and ongoing training to help you advance in your career.* *Comprehensive Benefits*: Sun River Health provides competitive compensation, health insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and additional perks.* *Collaborative Culture*: Work alongside a dedicated and compassionate team of professionals committed to supporting clients in their recovery journey.*How to Apply*If you have a passion for helping others and are looking to make a difference in the lives of individuals battling substance use disorders, we encourage you to apply!
