Job DescriptionBAE Systems in Fort Walton Beach, Florida is seeking a Functional Support Specialist I to support the Sensors & Electronics Solutions team.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Represents organizational unit on administrative mattersRecommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures. Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks and will assist in the development of financial proposal packages and tracking of all SES Business Unit RFP and RFQsResponsible for supporting financial data to facilitate the preparation of proposals prior to pricing by the pricing departmentProvide data in support of the contract negotiation processProvide WBS sorted labor hours and material budgets for awarded contracts from the proposal data. Responsible for tracking and driving the proposal process across I&LE functional leaders to support customer due datesPerform proposal activities including the development of spreadsheets and data for pricingPreparing Basis of Estimates based on inputs from SMEs and Proposal ManagementProviding data for risk assessmentsEnsuring compliance with the solicitation requirements by maintaining compliance matrix made from solicitation requirements and communicating those requirements to Proposal Management and SMEs as requiredCompiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specificationsDevelops project schedules for proposal delivery and notional project milestonesResearches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts.Coordinates proposal activities between program management, engineering, logistics, procurement, subcontracts, and contracts departmentsSupports new business development activities and participates in proposal development support by obtaining quotes, building BOEs (Basis of Estimates), and coordinating with functional support leadsDevelop proposal tasks and schedule timelinesCoordinates, manages, and creates customer required weekly proposal status reportReviews proposal and pricing activities under direction from the program or capture managerDevelops proposal packages and formats submissions for deliveryLeads or participates in process improvement efforts to improve proposal lead times and quality of inputsParticipates in fact-finding with the US Government CustomerEstimates Bid and Proposal budgets and tracks expendituresRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsAssociates degree and 2 years of related experience or a High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of related experienceMust have a strong background in PricingExcellent teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsAble to multi-task, managing support duties among multiple projects concurrentlyAble to work with minimal supervision; highly motivated individual with an ability to work on own initiativeSelf-starter who possesses the skills to identify problems and resolve them unilaterallyStrong organizational and analytical skills, capturing information, prioritizing tasks, and organizing effectivelyExcellent written and oral communication skillsPrevious experience with government proposals and contracting, specifically cost-type contracts and/or indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contracts (IDIQs) is desiredRequired Software/IT skills:Superior skills in Microsoft Excel; Above average skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project, and Adobe AcrobatPlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsKnowledge of CostPoint or similar ERP/cost reporting systemSalary Min: $43,920 - Max: $74,700Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $52,470 - $89,190Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
