Coordinate and perform system designs for seamless installation by our project management and field teams.Mechanical Engineer Requirements & ResponsibilitiesPosition SummaryThe scope of this job is to design new or replacement mechanical systems tailored to customer needs and building specifications. The role includes performing and coordinating system designs for installation by our project management and field construction teams.Essential Job FunctionsTo perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily. The following responsibilities include but are not limited to:Design HVAC and piping systems.Utilize computers and software such as information management systems, scheduling programs, spreadsheets, and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems and facilitate work.Ensure compliance with current building codes and related ordinances, such as ASHRAE standards.Prepare and present proposal letters, including project descriptions, scope of Hurckman Mechanical performance, assumptions, and estimated costs to customers. Follow up and secure customer commitment.Provide all engineering documentation for turnover to project management staff for implementation of sold projects. Documentation includes drawings, P&IDs, engineering calculations, equipment selections, installation details, bid summaries, and contract documents.Evaluate building systems and provide input regarding necessary upgrades or enhancements to achieve client objectives.Communicate effectively and tactfully with team members and customers to convey design intent and resolve design conflicts during construction.Provide trade-specific system design, including layout, calculations, specifications, system narratives, and related design services.Attend all project-related construction meetings, including pre-bid meetings.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in MEP design preferred.HVAC product and systems knowledge required.Knowledge of LEED principles.Licensed HVAC Designer and/or Licensed PE.Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.Ability to cope well with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative demeanor with internal and external customers.Proficient in various computer software, including Windows operating system and common office software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Physical ability to access job sites, including climbing, crawling, walking, kneeling, and other necessary movements to inspect systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
