Design Engineer (Utilities) RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a skilled Design Engineer specializing in utilities to join their team in Lake Como, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing utility systems for various projects, including water supply, wastewater management, and electrical distribution. The Design Engineer will br responsible for the due diligence investigations as well as preliminary design and engineering analyses for the water and wastewater utilities to support various types of retail, commercial, industrial and residential site projects. Responsibilities: Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports to include the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines Prepare Conceptual Utility Plans Design of Utility Systems Design Plans Prepare construction cost estimates Project coordination with client, other consultants and project team for the purpose of preparing a comprehensive site plan application Perform calculations related to pumping systems and hydraulics for various unit processes at water and wastewater facilities Prepare technical reports including water and sanitary sewer reports Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, and contractor Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 2-5 years' experience in Civil Utilities Engineering Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred Valid driver's license Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle Familiar with the use of AutoCAD to assist in the production of site plan drawings Knowledge of the planning and zoning process Knowledge of Hydraulic and Stormwater Design Programs Design and drafting capabilities Grading and drainage design skills Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes Proficient in the use of the following design tools for site engineering: (i) AutoCAD Civil3D; (ii) Hydraulic Software (i.e. Hydraflow, StormCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)); and (iii) proficiency in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project Excellent written and oral communication skills Independent and critical thinking abilities Self-starter who can work independently and with team members Benefits: Salary: $116K/yr - $130K/yr, salary negotiable Health Care: Medical, Dental, and Vision options 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match Paid holidays Paid Time Off (PTO) Tuition reimbursement Locations: California, North Carolina, Utah, Washington, Minnesota, Hawaii, Ohio, Idaho, Maryland, Texas, Tennessee, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Nebraska, Colorado, Massachusetts, Arizona, New York, Illinois, and Virginia If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or by emailing your resume to Alternatively, you are welcome to contact either Meghan Groves at Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.
