Lifeguard Summary: We are seeking a responsible and compassionate lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of residents at our assisted living community's pool area. The lifeguard will monitor all pool activities, respond quickly to any emergencies, and aid residents with varying levels of mobility and physical ability. Essential Functions: Monitor the pool area during designated swimming hours to ensure the safety of residents and staff. Enforce pool safety rules and regulations, preventing accidents and maintaining a safe swimming environment. Respond promptly to any emergency situations, including performing rescues, administering first aid, and using life-saving techniques as needed. Assist residents in and out of the pool, including providing support for those who may require additional help due to limited mobility. Ensure the pool area is clean, organized, and free of any hazards, including inspecting the condition of safety equipment. Maintain records of pool usage, any incidents or accidents, and any maintenance or safety concerns. Work closely with caregivers and other staff to coordinate pool activities, ensure resident safety, and address any special needs or concerns. Regularly check the chemical levels of the pool and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department. Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification Current lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) First Aid and CPR/AED certification Experience working with seniors or individuals with limited mobility preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm in emergency situations Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of the elderly Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
