Our Associates are encouraged to reach their fullest potential by delivering a differentiated experience to our guests and an exceptional bottom-line.Job Title: Night AuditLocation: Providence Marriott DowntownDepartment: Front DeskReports to: Front Office ManagerShift Hours: 11PM to 7AMInterested applicants should send cover letter and resume to: ProvidenceMarriottHR@Position Summary:Processing of the night accounting and general hotel operations to ensure the financial controls, compliance with standards, and regulations, customer satisfaction and protection of guests, staff, and assets while serving guests at the front desk providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner by following Marriott standards of aggressive hospitality and adhering to guidelines and procedures.Essential Functions:Report to work on time, in proper, and clean uniform, including name tag. Personal appearance and grooming must conform to standard.Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules, and standards. Conform to cash handling procedures at all times.Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheet, bulletin boards, and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.Get a daily briefing about extraordinary events to effectively deal with all foreseen situations on a daily basis.Have knowledge about room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions and know how to handle each.Have knowledge about guest rooms, locations, amenities, features, and all other services offered by the hotel.Follow all cash handling and banking procedures to check out all customers efficiently.Each associate is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the associate is capable of performing.Operate MARSHA and PMS, take same day reservations, and know how to enter a reservation in MARSHA.Perform guest registration and room assignment and accommodate special requests of all customers.Be knowledgeable about Marriott Rewards, Club Marquis, and other frequent traveler programs.Know how to follow all hospitality guidelines.Answer the phones according to the standards of proper etiquette and as fast as possible (no more than three rings).Know how to handle safe deposit boxes.Handle mail and messages properly and on a confidential basis.Ensure the cleanliness of the front desk and back office area at all times. Utilize spare time for cleaning. Keep computer equipment clean at all times.Assist all guests with problems and questions as required. Ensure that all guest problems are resolved by using the "Guest Response Program" procedures.Assist fellow associates in their jobs to ensure that all jobs are done on time.Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them.Be flexible in regard to work schedule.Use your PMS password with discretion; log off the terminal when leaving the area.Have knowledge about the city, the local area and attractions to provide the guests with all requested information.Ensure proper credit when checking out guests and provide the guests with a 0 balance folio.Handle late charges according to the procedure.Cash out at the end of the shift by running a detailed employee transactions report for all 3rd shift employees who worked and count the bank accurately, configuring in all vouchers to balance. Run an adding tape and sign, date, time.When leaving the front desk area, it is mandatory for the cashier to lock his/her bank so the cash is secured.Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager and security.At all times strive to represent Marriott in the most professional manner.Be disciplined at all times, stand alert and tall at the front desk, greet guests immediately, and offer assistance before the guest needs to ask. Focus your total attention on customers first, audit work second.Be familiar with all audit checklists to ensure smooth operations.Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.Processing, balancing, reconciliation, and closing of various daily accounts and preparation of the Daily Report to report accurate, timely information to management.Maintain the computerized PMS and MICROS systems through daily and weekly backups to ensure smooth operations.Maintain preparedness to protect the hotel guests, staff, and assets in accordance with those implemented with emergency procedures.Be prepared to direct other overnight hotel staff in emergency procedures.Prepare reports and communications to the Night Manager, the Controller, and other Hotel Leadership Members on night issues/problems and other pertinent information regarding night operations.Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent. Helpful if some hotel knowledge is learned but will train as well. Has basic computer knowledge and can add, subtract, multiply, divide: Word, Excel, Power point, internet, TESA, MICROS, XETA, and CI/TY. Will train on Marriott programs.Skills:Helpful if trained on the PMS for Marriott but will train as well. Comfortable speaking with guests and colleagues.Physical Job Requirements:Stand and walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift. See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids, operate standard office equipment, use a telephone, hear and understand at normal levels on the telephone, speak so that others may understand at normal levels on and off the telephone, reach overhead, grasp, push, pull, move, or lift up to 30 lbs on an occasional basis. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats; perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the manager. May be asked to assist with physically walking and delivering express checkouts and newspapers, which will result in constant bending.Equipment:Computer, fax, scanner, printer, bell cart, telephone, and Nextel.I have read the job description above and understand the requirements.
