Unlock your potential at St. Mark's Hospital!Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking an Operating Room First Assistant Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a surgical environment. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:You will be able to perform general nursing duties and be competent in all OR procedures as verified by specific competencies.You will demonstrate the ability to facilitate smooth and efficient room turnover and patient flowYou will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation proceduresYou will give a thorough report of patient's intraoperative condition to PACU nurse.You will facilitate communications between patient, surgeon, and OR staff and family and other departments as needed.You will appropriately responds to the patient in an emergency or physically distressful situation.You will be consistently ready and prepared for assigned cases.You will ensure Pre-op Checklist is complete (H&P present, informed consent signed, test results present, etc.) before patient is taken into surgical suite.You will rely on previous experience to anticipate and meet the needs of the surgeon.You will complete all paperwork and computer charting to ensure accurate and timely charting and patient charges occur. Requirements:Must be licensed as a Utah Registered Nurse or ARNP in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active UT RN license required within 60 days of hire.Current Certified First Assistant (CFA) having completed 350 cases. Two years of experience within the last four years.Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.Current Certification as First Assistant (CFA) required.Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skillsFor 150 years, St. Mark's Hospital has provided a full-spectrum of healthcare services to Salt Lake City and its surrounding communities.
