The RF Engineer plays an essential role in the process of understanding customer needs, translating them into requirements and formulating affordable solutions. The RF Engineer's activity is directed to the customer by the Marketing and Sales organizations. This position works closely with the customer and engineering staff to provide a solution with the best value for the customer. The RF Engineer needs to have a wide array of technical skills and be able to work independently. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate multi-disciplined teams in a consolidated effort to successfully support systems for microwave measurement of various test items such as antennas and radomes for radar, communications, satellite data transfer and other applications. This position offers opportunities for the candidate to grow into other roles within the company, such as systems engineering, applications engineering, or design. Required Skills: * Ability to analyze diverse requirements in RF/Microwave measurements with a good understanding of mechanical systems * Support customer test/production facilities on regularly scheduled or as-required basis * Strong analytical skills to understand complex technical systems and problem solve * Significant experience with customer interaction and systems design and/or analysis * Strong background in RF systems such as radar, satellite, or telecom * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Must be able to team with many departments to develop solutions for the customer consistent with NSI-MI's business goals * RF system design, specification development and interpretation, microwave communications * This position may require approximately 50% domestic and international travel Must have the ability to obtain or have a U.S. Government security clearance. Desirable skills: * Familiarity with microwave antenna design and measurement * Hands-on experience with a variety of antenna test ranges and knowledge of mechanical positioning systems * Troubleshooting system level electronic systems * Robotics, Motion Control Systems * Performing bench level measurements of RF Active and Passive Components such as: LNA, Amplifiers, Couplers, Power Dividers, Limiters, Mixers, Frequency Multipliers, Diplexers, and Filters * Experience with test equipment: spectrum analyzer, RF power meter, VNA, oscilloscope Experience Level: 2+ years of directly applicable industry experience Education Level: Bachelors (Required), Masters (Desired) Significant relevant US military or industry experience (>8 years) can be considered in lieu of a degree Work Location: Suwanee, GA Compensation Salary Minimum: Market Salary Maximum: Market Incentive: No Disclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
