The Vocational Services Tech is responsible for training consumers in work and social related skills, to include habilitation, vocational training and supports to consumers. Services include: IDD, HCS, TxHmL and General Revenue Funded services. Staff may share responsibility with other staff or may work independently of other staff to provide daily supervision, care and training of individuals. Required to work flexible hours and may be required to work rotating shifts. Will be supervised by the Vo-Tech Center Manager. Performs services in accordance with DADS, HCS, IDD, TxHmL, and TRC standards. Salary:$12.90ESSENTIAL TASKS AND PURPOSES:Provide training to all Consumers in punctuality, good work habits and work tolerance.Consumers served are successfully involved in appropriate training activities.Teach specific work skills to clients as needed.Consumers served are able to perform various tasks of different work contracts.Train consumers in the performance of specific tasks related to contracts.All specifications of work contracts are met to the contractor's satisfaction in a sufficient manner. Consumers receive clear /concise instruction in their assigned task and complete work as independently as possible.Provide training to consumers in social skills. All consumers are involved in activities that benefit their social development. Monitor safety of all work environments. Work environments (including vehicles and equipment) will be free of unnecessary safety hazards.All standard safety precautions will be followed. Documentation.Documentation will be legible, accurate, and completed in accordance with WTCIDD policies and procedures.All documentation will be turned in no later than 24 hours of shift or scheduled work period.Training / Active treatment, (following training programs, teaching everyday living skills, vocational skills, etc.Consumers program plans are followed as written.Assigned training occurs as planned / scheduled. Appropriate leisure activities are provided as scheduled / desired.Infection control.Universal precautions are followed when cleaning spills on floor/carpet, disposing of soiled linens, etc.Physical assistance.Consumers are physically assisted as needed (lifting, repositioning, transferring, etc.). Effective Communication.Important matters are communicated to appropriate persons in an accurate, timely, and professional manner.Transport / Escorting Consumers to and from activities.Transportation is provided in compliance with Center policy.Consumers will arrive on time to scheduled events.Informs supervisor of any change of status of driver's license and furnishes copy of new or renewed license to supervisor upon receipt.All traffic citations are reported to supervisors immediately.Complies with On-Call procedures.Informs appropriate On-Call personnel as specified in on-call procedures.Attend required Training and mandatory meetings.Obtains supervisor approval prior to missing training/meetings.Ensure Vocational Building, residential and vehicles are maintained in safe manner.All unsafe conditions are reported to proper personnel.Safety checklists are completed as assigned.Follow procedures for ensuring safety of Consumers in emergencies.Consumers and staff injures are reported immediately to appropriate personnel.Vocational Building, residential or vehicle maintenance problems are reported to a Manager immediately.Care of Center Property.Center property is kept clean, properly maintained, stored safely, and securely.Confidentiality.Follows TDMHMR and Agency rules regarding client confidentiality.Will not entertain personal guests/visitors at the work site.Medication monitoring.Medications are monitored without error. Individuals are assisted with ordering medications as needed.Medications are properly counted and documented.Medication errors/refusals are reported to nurse immediately.Must maintain certification to perform duties delegated by an RN.Emergency Procedures.CPR and First Aid are administered properly when needed.Participate in Inter-disciplinary Team process as requested.Upon invitation and with approval from supervisor, Vocational Service Tech will attend service planning meetings and provide input relative to the Consumer's desired outcomes and work performance. Staff will adhere to rules outlined in ConfidentialityStatement signed by employee and follow Information Services policy/ procedureguidelines related to security and accountability as a user of WTC network andsoftware application technology. All team members will promote and ensures safetyguidelines are followed for the work environment by maintaining clean, neat,organized and safe work areas. This includes but is not limited to thefollowing:Safety concerns are reported to supervisor immediatelyupon discovery and/or corrected.Identifies and reports any unsafe factors inthe environment.Reports and/or corrects safety hazards in thework area.Utilizes universal precautions when handlingall blood and body fluids.Adheres to all standards, policies andprocedures of infection control.Universal precautions are utilized inaccordance to WTC policy and procedures.Team Members must have and maintain a driving record thatis acceptable for insurability through the Center's insurance carrier. Staff must maintain a safe, inspected androad-worthy vehicle and have a valid Texas Driver's License. Staff must notifysupervisor immediately of any driving violations or citations received from lawenforcement with no evidence of failure to report. Must meet the criteria thatindicate a commitment to safe and responsible driving as defined by the TexasRisk Management Fund. #J-18808-Ljbffr
